Barca striker set for premature exit?

FC Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite, who joined the club amid a cloud of controversy in February, looks set for a premature exit just six months into his four-and-a-half-year deal.

Braithwaite joined Barca from Leganes earlier this year in one of LaLiga's most controversial transfers in recent times, with the Catalan giants taking advantage of the league's rule on injury replacements to complete the deal outside of the transfer window.

The Denmark international, who is contracted to the club until June 2024, has scored just once in 11 appearances for the Catalan giants, however, and now looks set to leave in the coming weeks after being linked with a move to the Premier League.

According to Mundo Deportivo, both Everton and West Ham United have entered talks with Barca over a deal for Braithwaite, who previously played in England during a brief spell with Championship side Middlesbrough.

The Toffees are said to be favourites to land the 29-year-old's signature due to their good relationship with the LaLiga giants, which has seen them sign Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina in recent years.
