Real & Barca advance in Copa del Rey

UD Ibiza 1-2 Barcelona

FC Barcelona survived a big scare after coming from behind to edge third-tier side UD Ibiza 2-1 in their Copa del Rey round of 32 clash.

New Barca boss Quique Setien rested Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique and that move almost backfired, as Pep Cabelle gave the hosts a shock early lead in the ninth minute.

Antoine Griezmann eventually pulled the visitors level in the 72nd minute before the Frenchman snatched the winner deep in stoppage time.

Unionistas de Salamanca 1-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid advanced to the last 16 after seeing off third-tier side Unionistas de Salamana 3-1 at Pistas Del Helmantico.

Alvaro Romero gave Los Blancos a scare after cancelling out Gareth Bale's first half opener in the 57th minute.

However, an own goal from Juan Gongora five minutes thereafter and a stoppage-time goal from Brahim Diaz settled the tie for Zinedine Zidane's charges.

Real Sociedad 2-0 Espanyol

Real Sociedad progressed to the round of 16 after beating fellow LaLiga side Espanyol at Reale Arena.

Ander Berrenetxea broke the deadlock for Sociedad on the stroke of half-time while Alexander Isak sealed a spot in the round of 16 with the second goal just after the hour-mark.

Girona 0-3 Villarreal

Villarreal progressed to the last 16 after thrashing second tier outfit Girona 3-0 at Estadi Municipal De Montilivi.

After a scoreless first stanza, Ramiro Funes Mori broke the deadlock for the Yellow Submarine nine minutes from the break while Santi Carzola and Samuel Chukwueze sealed the result with two goals within two minutes.
