Ancelotti breaks silence on Ronaldo

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has broken his silence on reports that he wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Ancelotti was keen to have the five-time Ballon d'Or winner back at the Madrid club, with it being claimed on Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito that the Real Madrid manager is "obsessed" with the idea re-signing Ronaldo.

However, the Italian tactician has now denied that he has any interest in signing the Portuguese star.

"Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend and he has all my love and respect," he wrote on Twitter.

"I have never considered signing him. We look forward."

The LaLiga side has been widely linked with Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe over the past few weeks, and Ancelotti is yet to deny those rumours, leading many to believe that the forward, who is in the final year of his contract in France, may be the 62-year-old's main target for this window.
