Antoine Griezmann has informed LaLiga outfit Atletico Madrid that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Despite recently signing a contract extension, the Frenchman confirmed his decision in a video released on Twitter on Tuesday evening.
Griezmann signed a new five-year deal before the start of the 2018/2019 campaign, but will now leave the club once the season has concluded.
"I wanted to tell you that I've made the decision to leave to experience new things and have new challenges. It's been very hard for me to take this path, but I feel that it's what I need," Griezmann said.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has not confirmed where he will be playing next season, but he has once again been linked with LaLiga champions FC Barcelona.
Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain have also been linked with the France international but reports in Spain suggest the Camp Nou is his next destination.
Griezmann has netted 133 goals in 255 appearances for the Madrid outft since joining from Real Sociedad.
