Barcelona are constantly approached by agents of players deemed to be "special talents", and this puts them under a lot of pressure to make the right calls, and sometimes they make poor decisions in this regard.
The Financial Times reported that, in 2017, Spanish agent Junior Minguella offered Mbappe, then an exciting 18-year-old, to the Blaugrana, but did not hear back from the LaLiga side until a WhatsApp message later arrived from board member Javier Bordas, who said that: "Neither the coaches nor Presi [the president] wanted him."
According to Goal, former Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu instead wanted Ousmane Dembele to come in to replace Neymar at the time, and was not interested in securing anyone else's signature besides his No. 1 target.
Bordas also later revealed that the Blaugrana's technical staff rejected the chance to sign a young Haaland as they deemed him to not be "a player in the Barca model".
Today, the aforementioned duo are two of the most sought-after young men in football.
The list does not end there, though, with Cristiano Ronaldo being another top player the Camp Nou club chose not to sign when he was younger – scroll through the gallery above to see 10 big-name stars Barcelona rejected!
