Borussia Dortmund new boy Erling Haaland bagged a hat-trick on debut in a five-goal thriller, while RB Leipzig cemented top spot in the Bundesliga with victory over Union Berlin.

Dortmund enjoyed a come-from-behind 5-3 victory over FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga at the WWK Arena on Saturday.

A hat-trick on debut from the bench by new boy Erling Haaland spearheaded Dortmund’s victory, with Julian Brandt and Jadon Sancho contributing as well.

A brace from Floriant Niederlechner and Marco Ritchie had the home side on target, as Dortmund remain in the top-four while the hosts stay in the bottom half.

FC Cologne 3-1 Vfl Wolfsburg

FC Cologne got back to winning ways following a 3-1 victory over Vfl Wolfsburg at the RheinEnergie Stadion.

A first-half brace from John Cordoba followed by Jonas Hector’s solitary strike with Renato Steffen’s consolation granted the home side victory.

TSG Hoffenheim 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt remained in the bottom-half despite a 2-1 win over TSG Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.

Goals from Bas Dost and Timothy Chandler did the business for the hosts amidst the best efforts of Kostas Stafylidis.

Mainz 1-2 Freiburg

SC Freiburg returned to winning ways to edge closer to the top-six with a 2-1 victory over Mainz at the Coface Arena.

Korean Kwon Chang-hoon and Nils Petersen’s goals gave the visitors victory, with Jean-Phillipe Mateta netting the consolation.

Fortuna Dusseldorf 0-1 Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen moved out of the bottom two slots following a narrow 1-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

An own-goal from Florian Kastenmeier midway into the second half provided the winner, whilst Niklas Moisander earned his marching orders at the death.

RB Leipzig 3-1 Union Berlin

RB Leipzig extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings following a 3-1 victory Union Berlin at the Red Bull Arena.

Timo Werner’s second-half brace and Marcel Sabitzer’s sole strike cancelled out Marius Butler’s tenth-minute opener.
