FIFA World Cup 2022

Andorra 0-5 England

Group I leaders England moved closer to sealing automatic qualification after trouncing Andorra 5-0 at Estadi Nacional.

Ben Chilwell and Bukayo Saka gave the Three Lions a two-goal cushion going into the half-time break while Tammy Abraham, James Ward-Prowse and Jack Grealish got the goals in the second stanza, as the visitors ran riot.

Poland 5-0 San Marino

Poland boosted their chances of qualifying after hammering San Marino 5-0 at National Stadium Warsaw.

The hosts raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Karol Swiderski and an own goal by Cristian Brolli.

Tomasz Kedziora got the third goal early in the second stanza before late goals by Adam Buksa and Krzysztof Piatek rounded off a rampant win.

Moldova 0-4 Denmark

Denmark are on the brink of qualification as they maintained their perfect record in Group F after thrashing Moldova 4-0 at Zimbru Stadium.

All the goals were scored in the first stanza courtesy of Andreas Skov Olsen, Simon Kjaer, Christian Norgaard and Joakim Maehle, as the Danes opened a seven-point lead at the top of the section, with only three matches left to play.

Luxembourg 0-1 Serbia

Serbia climbed above Portugal at the top of Group A after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Luxembourg at Stade de Luxembourg.

After a goalless first stanza, Dusan Vlahovic eventually broke the deadlock for Serbia 22 minutes before time and that proved to be the winner.

Switzerland 2-0 Northern Ireland

Switzerland reduced the deficit behind Group C leaders Italy to just three points after beating ten-man Northern Ireland 2-0 at Stade de Geneve.

Denis Zakaria had an early goal disallowed for the Swiss by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for offside and Northern Ireland were reduced to ten men eight minutes before the half-time break after Jamal Lewis got a second yellow card for time wasting and was dismissed.

Steven Zuber eventually broke the deadlock for the hosts on the stroke of half-time and Christian Fassnacht sealed the deal for Switzerland in stoppage time.
