Bayern came to life following a nervy start and went ahead through a neat strike from the inside right by Joshua Kimmich, but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) stepped in to call an offside.

Los Tigres continued to hold ground as the match headed to the closing stages, with a move down the left from Javier Aquino allowing Guido Pizarro to take aim, but he dragged wide.

The momentum shifted back to the Bavarians eight minutes to halftime as Sane got on the left to race into the box before shaving the top of the crossbar with a threatening shot from a promising area.

Sane continued his plight to find the breakthrough minutes in the second half with a header from a delivery down the byline by Kingsley Coman, but it went off target.

Another threat from the Bavarians before the hour mark proved telling after Robert Lewandowski beat Nahuel Guzman to an aerial battle to see Benjamin Pavard slot the loose ball into an empty net.

The first change of the evening happened on the side of Bayern five minutes later, as Corentin Tolisso settled in for Serge Gnabry.

It was all Bayern in the closing stages, with Los Tigres unable to spring a turnaround but the Bavarians couldn’t add to their advantage therefore it finished 1-0 in Qatar.
