Pochettino rues missed chances

English Premier League

Spurs dominated proceedings at Wembley Stadium this week as they managed 31 shots goal but ultimately needed an 84th-minute goal from Son Heung-min to rescue a draw after the Hammers had taken the lead through a stunning strike from Pedro Obiang.

The result left the north London club three points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool and two ahead of Arsenal in sixth, leaving Pochettino to rue his side’s missed chances against West Ham.

"We gave everything to win," said Pochettino, whose side had scored 10 goals in their last three matches.

"We dominated the game. Yes, sometimes things like this happen in football; you push, force and have chances to score, but it's impossible to score. I'm happy with the effort and performance having had 48 hours to prepare.

“I have nothing to say other than the fact we needed some luck to break down West Ham. I am not concerned, that is football. We need to be happy with a point after conceding from their first shot."
