'There's a lot of jealousy towards Ole'

English Premier League

There's a lot of jealousy towards Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from people in the game, according to Red Devils legend Dwight Yorke.

After a shaky start to the campaign, Solskjaer's currently sit top of the Premier League standings after their 2-1 win over Fulham this week.

The Norwegian has faced his fair share of criticism over the past year, but Yorke says people are jealous after he managed to land top job.

“There is a lot of jealousy towards Ole from within the game. People don’t want to see him be successful for some reason," the ex-United striker told the Sun

“I have been looking at it and listening to people talk about the football club and it is pure jealousy.

“He did not do great at Cardiff and managed Molde then gets one of the top jobs in world football.

“People in football are begging for an opportunity and he has got this one, he’s won the jackpot.”

He added, “He has ignored all that talk, stuck to his beliefs and, let’s remember, used all his experience from his time at United as a player and working with the Under-23s.

“He has grasped this and now look at where they are.”
