Swansea City sack manager Clement

English Premier League

Clement, who previously worked as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant manager at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, took over the Swans in January before saving them from relegation as they finished 15th.

However, with the Welsh outfit currently propping up the top-flight table at the midway point of the season, the club have made the decision to part ways with the head coach.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said: "We felt we couldn't leave it any longer and needed to make a change to give the best chance of an uplift."

The Welsh club says it will give a further update on replacement coaching staff "within the next 24 hours".
