Man City 'agree deal' for England star

English Premier League

Manchester City looked to have secured their second signing after reportedly agreeing a deal to sign an England star.

Various reports in England claim that the Premier League champions have reached an agreement with Leeds United to sign midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Transfer journalist David Ornstein broke the news that the Citizens will pay Leeds £42million plus £3million in bonuses for the 26-year-old.

The Athletic reported that the England international is still on holiday but the deal could be concluded next week after progress in negotiations.

Phillips has established himself as a key holding midfielder for Leeds since their return to the Premier League and he was key figure in England's run to the 2020 European Championship final.

Ornstein also added that City midfielder Darko Gyabi could be on his way to Leeds, although the transfer is being discussed as a separate deal.
