Man Utd offered ex-City striker – report

English Premier League

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko from AS Roma.

The Roma captain looks set to leave the club before the transfer window closes after falling out with manager Paulo Fonseca and was left out of the club's 4-3 Serie A win over Spezia last weekend.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claim the 34-year-old could make a move to Old Trafford after being offered to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, although this offer is said to have been turned down.

The report adds further that Pep Guardiola also turned down an offer to re-sign the towering striker for City, despite Sergio Aguero's struggles with injury this season.

Instead, it looks likely that the Bosnia international will move to Roma's domestic rivals Inter Milan as part of a swap deal that would see former United star Alexis Sanchez move the other way.

Dzeko scored 72 goals in 189 appearances during his time at the Etihad Stadium and won no fewer than five major honours, including two Premier League crowns.
