Liverpool are reportedly plotting a late move for United States international Aaron Long, with the transfer window set to close on Monday.
Long currently plies his trade with Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls, although the season has been suspended to assess the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
As a result of the suspension, Sky Sports have now reported that the Red Bulls are set to approve loan move for the central defender.
The report adds that the short-term is appealing to the Reds as there would be no loan fee and an option to make the move permanent would be included.
With all three senior central defenders injured, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed they would look for another signing before Monday's deadline.
