Newcastle United 3-2 Southampton

Southampton lost their fifth game in a row after a 3-2 defeat against ten-man Newcastle United at St. James' Park.

Almiron restored a two-goal lead for Newcastle in first-half stoppages and got his brace and James Ward-Prowse gave Southampton hopes of a comeback after pulling a goal back three minutes from the break.

The Saints were given a lifeline two minutes later after United were reduced to ten men following the second booking of Jeff Hendrick who was sent off but Newcastle held on to a 3-2 win.
