Pep: He's too expensive for Man City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reserved special praise for one Aston Villa star following Saturday's 3-0 triumph at the Etihad.

The Citizens moved to within three points of leaders Liverpool with victory over Villa on Saturday, with Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan netting in the second half.

Villa held City scoreless in the opening 45 minutes, and Guardiola had high praise for Villa skipper Jack Grealish - whose been subject of interest from Europe's elite.

"He [Grealish] is an incredible, incredible player, top player," said Guardiola, as per The Mirror.

"I am happy for the fact he is an Aston Villa player and he got offers to move on but decided to stay there in the Championship.

"I like that they were promoted to the Premier League and he defended his club. He is a talented player - fast in the final third, passes, always creates something.

"He's an exceptional player but too expensive for Manchester City!"

Grealish has scored four goals and registered as many assists in 12 games across all competitions this season.
