Mourinho urged to sell 'poison' Pogba

English Premier League

Pogba, 25, has been at the centre of controversy with the stone-faced Mourinho over the past 12 months with the duo reportedly clashing regularly within the faltering United set-up.

However, the relationship hit a new low this weekend as the former Juventus star publicly questioned Mourinho's tactical approach after the 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And former United striker, now host of talkSport, Alan Brazil, feels the Red Devils need to cut their losses on the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

"If someone comes in with a massive offer, I think Jose would be saying, 'I've made a massive mistake with this guy. I can't control him, so I suggest we take the money'," he said on his podcast.

"But he's got to make that decision before January, because he's going to have to replace him. He's going to have to get one or two in and say, 'OK, we're going to have to do without him'.

"If Fergie was there now, he [Pogba] wouldn't be there. Not a hope in hell. Fergie would not trust someone with that reputation. Even a World Cup winner.

"I think Jose has been patient but I think his patience has gone now. I think he realises this man is a bad egg. Great player, World Cup winner, but poison."
