Pogba-Mou training row explained?

English Premier League

Mourinho and Pogba were caught by Sky Sports television cameras sharing a tense exchange of words at United’s Carrington training ground on Wednesday morning.

This after Pogba watched United’s surprise Carabao Cup defeat to Derby County on Tuesday evening from the Old Trafford stands, just hours after being told he will never captain the club again.

While watching the game, the midfielder recorded an Instagram video which showed him laughing and joking with team-mates Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira.

However, according to The Guardian, the faulty Wi-Fi network at Old Trafford saw the post only publish around half an hour after United’s defeat was confirmed.

Mourinho is seen to confront Pogba about the video in the Sky Sports footage, in an attempt to establish whether he was making light of the shock penalty shoot-out defeat.

However, the Red Devils boss is understood to be satisfied with his midfielder's explanation and the matter is now considered settled.

Pogba was 'rested' for the shoot-out defeat to Frank Lampard's Derby following his subtle criticism of Mourinho's tactical approach in the 1-1 draw with Wolves.

Mourinho confirmed on Tuesday night that Pogba would no longer skipper United in the absence of club captain Antonio Valencia after his calls for the team to 'attack, attack, attack'.
