According to The Athletic, United already enquired about the Poland international before Rashford's injury that's likely to keep him out until March.

The report further suggests Milan are willing to sell the 24-year-old but are demanding a €35 million, despite only signing Piatek one year ago for the same fee.

Stefano Pioli's side is believed to be open to the idea of a six-month loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Piatek has scored 35 goals in 61 games since arriving in Italy with Genoa at the start of the 2018/19 season from Cracovia.
