Solskajer drops hint over new signing

English Premier League

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped a hint that Amad Diallo will be called up to the squad against Everton on Saturday.

United will host Carlo Ancelotti's side this weekend buoyed by their 9-0 victory over Southampton in mid-week as they look to challenge Manchester City for the title.

Having registered the 18-year-old and outcast Phil Jones into their Premier League and Europa League squads, Solskjaer opened up about the Ivory Coast wonderkid.

"We will make a decision on Amad in the week [on] what he does at the weekend – if he’s in our squad," the Red Devils boss said of the €40-million January signing from Atalanta.

"It depends on many factors, if we have injuries or Covid. You never know, but he might be playing on Friday [for the U23s] but yeah. I will make a decision on Thursday."

The technically gifted right-winger netted a brace on his Premier League 2 debut in a 6-3 win over Liverpool U-23s last week.
