The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) has been in the headlines all season, and Jurgen Klopp is the latest manager to express his unhappiness with the technology after Liverpool had a goal disallowed against Aston Villa as Roberto Firmino's 'armpit' was offside.
According to the statement released b the Premier League, Firmino had a goal ruled out for offside by VAR after it was deemed his 'arm pit' was marginally ahead of the last Villa defender.
The decision did not affect the outcome of the encounter as the Reds went on to claim a 2-1 win on Saturday, but Klopp was still unhappy to find out it was Firmino's armpit that was offside.
When informed why Firmino's was chalked off, Klopp replied,""You what? His armpit?
“We won 2-1, so it's now not that serious. But we are talking about serious moments, it's not right that we are sitting here talking about it and everybody wants to laugh.
“There's nothing to laugh about, to be honest. A manager can get sacked for losing football games.
“I don't want to make it bigger than it is. We just have to clarify it. I don't say anybody is doing it on purpose," Klopp said, according to the Mirror.
