FA Cup: Blues through, Cherries humbled

English Premier League

Swansea City 2-1 Wolverhampton

Swansea won a tight contest against Wolves 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for the Welsh side in the 11th minute with a well-taken shot.

Diogo Jota equalised in the 66th minute, but three minutes later, Wilfried Bony scored the winner for Swans.

Wigan Athletic 3-0 Bournemouth

Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth were hammered by League One side Wigan Athletic.

Sam Morsy gave the Latics the lead in the ninth minute. They then killed Bournemouth off in the second half thanks to goals from Dan Burn and Callum Elder.

Chelsea 1-1 Norwich (Chelsea win 5-3 on pens)

Chelsea edged through to the next round on penalties against Norwich.

The Blues had to wait until the 55th minute to breach the Canaries, but Michy Batshuayi eventually scored a much-needed goal for the out-of-form Londoners.

However, their joy was short-lived as Jamal Lewis bagged a 94th minute equaliser to send the game to extra time. From there, both Pedro and Álvaro Morata were sent off and the teams went to penalties.

Willy Caballero showed his worth during the shootout with a vital save to deny Nélson Oliveira and seal the tie.
