EPL Wrap: Chelsea ease past Huddersfield

Huddersfield Town 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea returned to winning ways in the league with a comfortable 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium.

Tiémoué Bakayoko opened the scoring for the Blues in the 23 minute with a clinical finish from a tight angle after being teed up by Willian.

Willian then doubled the visitors lead by heading home Marcos Alonso's cross three minutes before the break.

The Premier League champions bagged their third goal five minutes into the second half as Willian turned provider once again to pick out Pedro Rodriguez, who placed the ball into the top corner.

Huddersfield did bag a consolation in stoppage time courtesy of a fine glancing header from Laurent Depoitre.

Crystal Palace 2-1 Watford

Crystal Palace moved out of the bottom three with a dramatic 2-1 win over 10-man Watford on Tuesday night.

The Eagles were trailing for most of the match after Daryl Janmaat found the opener in the third minute.

However, the sending off of Watford's Tom Cleverley in the 87th minute woke the hosts up and they leveled matters through Bakary Sako two minutes later, while James McArthur netted in stoppage time to seal three points.

Roy Hodgson's troops have jumped up to 17th on the table, Watford are ninth with 22 points from 17 games.

Burnley 1-0 Stoke City

Burnley moved into the top four of the Premier League standings with a 1-0 win over Stoke City on Tuesday night.

Ashley Barnes scored the dramatic goal a minute before time to fire Sean Dyche's troops into fourth on the table with 31 points from 17 games. They are four points behind third placed Chelsea.

Stoke, meanwhile, find themselves in 15th position.
