After an intense first half in which both sides gave nothing away it was the visitors who looked the more threatening.

But in a tightly contested first half neither side were able to get a shot on goal as it remained goalless at the break.

The Gunners with more intensity looked to find another gear and were rewarded for their impetus after seven minutes of play after the interval.

A second successive strike by Arsenal fullback Hector Bellerin in as many games put arsenal gave the London side the advantage. Bellerin ran onto an excellently weighted pass from Alex Iwobi to steer the ball into the Bournemouth net.

Although the Gunners defence was again found wanting, when Callum Wilsons steered home a left-footed effort after great work from Ryan Fraser who provided the assist on the 70th minute to equalise for Bournemouth 1-1.

Four minutes later, the home side was on the verge of history after Wilson was again able to cushion the ball in the path of the onrushing Jordan Ibe who’s powerful effort beat the helpless Petr Cech with 15 minutes remaining on the clock.
