Can Chelsea exact revenge against United?

English Premier League

The Blues will look to put their shock opening day defeat against Manchester United behind them, in tonight’s Carabao Cup match at Stamford Bridge.

After Chelsea’s 4-0 horror defeat at Old Trafford on the opening day of the Premier League, things have taken a turn for the better. Since then, the Blues have gone on a seven-game winning streak, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process. In contrast, opponents, Manchester United have only won two of their last seven games, scoring a poultry seven goals.

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has been impressed with his team’s winning streak saying, “The really pleasing thing is that we've seen good signs in those seven wins. There have been lots of things we like and lots of things where we know we can improve.” However, the Blues boss is also wary of Manchester United, adding, “I'm very aware of the new threats they (Manchester United) have" according to Sky Sports.

While Red Devils manager, Ole Gunner Solskajer, has found the going tough, as goals and results have been hard to come by. More recently, however, there has been an upturn in form with the return of striker, Anthony Martial contributing to United’s last two wins.
