Blues open bidding war for Icardi

Chelsea broke their club-record transfer with the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid in the off-season, but the Spain international has struggled to adapt to life at Stamford Bridge under manager Antonio Conte.

Reports in AS claim the Blues have tabled an opening offer to Icardi's agent and wife Wanda Nara, as they look to bolster their attacking options, after an abysmal attempt to defend their league title.

The Argentina international has been in fine form this season with 22 goals in 24 Serie A games and is now reportedly a top target for Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the Spanish publication claim it's unlikely Inter will part with their captain and attacking talisman for anything less than an eight-figure sum.

The former Barcelona youth product has an incredible record of 103 goals and 26 assists in 180 Serie A games.
