Manchester United were wrong to sell striker Romelu Lukaku two years ago, according to former Red Devils star Ashley Young.
The Belgian striker left Old Trafford to join Inter Milan ahead of the 2019/2020 season as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Lukaku helped Inter claim their first Serie A title since the 2009/2010 season, but Young, who also left Inter recently, feels his former teammate has nothing to prove on his return to England.
“I’m so happy for him,” Young told The Guardian.
“It was the wrong decision for United to let him go. To join him at Inter and see how well he did there was fantastic.
"I don’t know whether he thinks he has a point to prove [in the Premier League] but I don’t see it like that: his record speaks for itself. He scored a lot of goals at United and everywhere else.
"I hope he does really well at Chelsea – just as long as he doesn’t turn up against Villa!”
