Wenger defends referee comments

English Premier League

Arsenal were leading this week's London derby after Jack Wilshere’s second-half strike but the Blues got back into the game minutes later as Hazard went down in a heap in the area under minimal contact from Hector Bellerin, before slotting home the resulting penalty

Chelsea went on to take the lead soon after before Arsenal rescued a point in stoppage time through Bellerin, but Wenger - who has already been charged by the FA over misconduct for comments about the officiating in the draw against West Brom - was vocal in his thoughts on Hazard’s actions and Taylor’s decision.

And, when asked if he still believed it was a case of simulation, Wenger said: "One hundred per cent.

"I respect everybody's opinion, [but] I think it was a yellow card for Hazard, 100 per cent.

"I have a right to have my opinion and I respect everybody's opinion."
