Manchester United finally acquired the services of the skilful Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for a lofty price of £72.9 million (R1.4 billion) in this window. Fortunately for the Red Devils, this is a much lower price than the reported £120 million (R2.4 billion) that was asked of them by the Bundesliga club last year.
London side Arsenal have also splashed some big cash in this window, having brought in Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White for a reported fee of £50 million (R1 billion), making him one of the most expensive English players ever.
United's rivals Manchester City are known big spenders so it will not surprise many that transfer business of theirs features here.
The Premier League champions paid Liverpool £49 million (R982 million) for the transfer of Raheem Sterling back in 2015. The winger has proved a worthwhile signing, having gone on to make 292 appearances for City to date, scoring 114 times and assisting a further 87 goals.
