Shield, Chelsea join forces

South Africa’s number one selling deodorant brand and the newly crowned English Premier League champions have come together to celebrate and inspire South Africans to make moves, both on and off the field.

As part of the partnership, Shield is offering football players from around the country to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a day training with the Blues coaches at their training base in Cobham.

This is to afford aspiring professional footballers a real-life feel of what it takes to make it at the top of the club football pyramid, including hard work, practice and absolute dedication – both on and off the field.

For those who have hung up their playing boots, or if you’re just a football superfan, you could win a dream trip to watch the first team training before enjoying a meet and greet with some of the biggest players in world football.

Winning requires great sacrifice, waking up in the morning – sometimes before sunrise – or rolling up your sleeves and doing the dirty work to get the job done. In such moments you can rely on Shield to keep you dry and odour-free, so that every move you make is one with confidence.

“We are thrilled to announce or partnership with Chelsea Football Club. Soccer is the most loved sport in South Africa and is a key passion point for our customers,” says Gareth Marshall, Senior Brand manager of Shield South Africa.

“Confidence to perform in te moments that matter can often be the difference between winning and losing. With Shield, anyone can have the confidence to take on the day, no matter what their movements are. When you move with purpose you get things done.

With athletes such as Eden Hazard, Victor Moses and Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea FC is considered one of the world’s top football clubs. These international superstars are the embodiment of hard work, commitment and absolute dedication to their craft.

The Chelsea Federation international development manager Ian Woodroffe believes this partnership is an amazing opportunity for aspiring South African footballers to realize their dreams.

“This partnership with Shield will provide an amazing opportunity for aspiring footballers from South Africa. We know the country boasts many players with a huge passion for football and this competition gives them the  chance to demonstrate their ability,” adds Woodroffe.

“The Chelsea Federation works hard to improve the lives of young people all over the world and we look forward to extending our work in South Africa.”
