Sundowns will battle the North Africans in the CAF Champions League after beating Equatorial Guinea's Leones Vegetarianos 7-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round of the competition.
Bafana need a positive result against Libya on March 23 to qualify for the 2019 African Nations Cup, provided South Africa doesn't agree to host the tournament after Cameroon were stripped of the rights.
"We are playing a very good team," said Mosimane, whose men will contest the first leg away on the weekend of December 14-16.
"In my opinion they consist of a lot of the Libya players. It's up to the boys to bring confidence in the country.
"We have to win against that team so that we bring confidence to Bafana, because most of the players are there. So it's key, it's important to win away.
"It's important to the issue I am talking about, that we need to bring confidence to Bafana to say it's possible," said the former national team coach.
