Pirates are set to commence the second phase of their pre-season preparations when they jet out to Zambia, following a week-long camp in Nelspruit.
The Buccaneers will now be stepping things up a notch as they have reportedly lined up friendly fixtures against Zambian Premier League side Forest Rangers as well as The Ravens.
Rangers are set to resume their league season on Saturday following the FIFA World Cup recess, and will be using the match to test themselves.
The big fixture against Mazembe will be Bucs' first time meeting the Congolese giants since their famous 2013 CAF Champions League second round clash in Lubumbashi, where the late Senzo Meyiwa saved two dubiously awarded penalties to see his side through to the group stages on a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Pirates later went on to reach the final, where they were undone by eight-time champions Al Ahly.
Mazembe are set to use the clash to prepare for the resumption of their Champions League group campagn, in which they face Algerian side MC Algier next Tuesday.
Micho Sredojevic's side will also be gauging themselves against the five-time African champoins and current CAF Confederation Cup holders for their much-anticipated return to continental competition in December.
