Downs secure training venue

After departing on Wednesday evening, the Brazilians were given time to rest on Thursday – aided by the fact that a training venue in Alexandria had not been given to them – as well as Friday morning, to let the bodies recover from the long trip north.

“Since arriving, we haven’t done anything,” Mosimane tells “We’ve come off a 14-15 hour trip, so we have to respect the body and understand what these 15 hours have done to our bodies and minds … so we’ve now had to give those 15 hours back, to recuperate. So that’s what we’ve done, and by this afternoon, we’ll be back on ‘normal time’.”

Mosimane says a training venue has been confirmed, with a first training session and tactical discussion set for this evening.

“That’s where we are - we haven’t trained, or spoken about football, or done any video analysis – we’ll be starting the engine in the evening after training, where we’ll also look back on the past game against Zamalek, looking at what went wrong and what went right.

“So the work starts now – it’s like a Monday for me!”

Sundowns enter the title decider at El Borg Arab Stadium with a 3-0 lead from the first leg. Kick-off is at 20h30.
