Kekana: We were experimenting

CAF Champions League

Sundowns were beaten 1-0 by the Moroccan giants and therefore finished in second place in Group A, which is not what they would have wanted. Nonetheless, Pitso Mosimane’s men are delighted to be in the knockout phase of the competition.

Finishing second means Sundowns will play their second leg quarterfinal clash away from home.

“The game in Wydad was a game where we, for once, we were not under pressure away. It was a game that we used to try certain movements, especially against a team like Wydad with so many movements. So we were trying to get movements that we will use in the next stage of the tournament,” Kekana tells

“We managed to experiment and we are happy with the positives we took. We created so many chances that we thought could have won the match.”

Sundowns are the only representatives from South Africa in the last eight after Orlando Pirates were knocked out over the weekend.
