Al-Hilal boost CCL last eight hopes

FC Platinum 0-1 Al-Hilal Omdurman

Al-Hilal Omdurman boosted their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals after edging FC Platinum 1-0 in the penultimate group match at Barbourfields Stadium.

Mohamed Eldai snatched the winner for Al-Hilal with six minutes remaining, as they went up to the top of Group B with nine points.

Al-Hilal will play the final group match against Egyptian giants Al Ahly on home soil next weekend. Meanwhile, Platinum will end their campaign with a clash against Etoile du Sahel next weekend.

Zesco United 1-1 Primeiro de Agosto

Zesco United and Primeiro de Agosto are out of the running to qualify for the quarter-finals after playing to a 1-1 draw at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Winston Kalengo broke the deadlock for Zesco five minutes after the break but Papel Ary ensured the share of the spoils with the equaliser for Primeiro 21 minutes before time.

The Zambian side remain in third place, five points behind second-placed Zamalek in Group A while the Angolan outfit were left in bottom place.

AS Vita Club 4-1 JS Kabylie

AS Vita Club ended JS Kabylie's chances of reaching the quarter-finals with a 4-1 thrashing at Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecote.

Djuma Shabani, Yannicj Bangala, Ernest Luzolo and Fiston Mayele all netted for the Congolese side while Rezki Hamroune scored a consolation goal for the Algerian outfit.

Vita have a slim chance of qualifying after moving up to third in Group D but they have to hope third-placed Raja Casablanca lose to ES Tunis later on Saturday night to stand any chance of progression.
