Zamalek thumped Raja Casablanca 5-1 on aggregate to set up a CAF Champions League final with Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly SC.
Raja continued with the front figures of Soufiane Rahimi and Ben Malango from the first-leg, with the home side opting for Mostafa Mohamed and Achraf Bencharki in attack.
With chances either end few and far between despite the near-misses from the likes of Mohamed and Malango amongst others, neither goalkeeper was brought to work in the opening stages.
Raja made their first-half dominance count two minutes in the second half after Malango picked up a loose pass to see his strike deflect into the back of the net.
The White Knights levelled matters inside the closing stages of the first period when Ferjani Sassi came up with a classy finish from good footwork.
Raja made two changes on 63 minutes, as Fabrice Ngoma, who started the first-leg, and Mahmoud Benhalib introduced.
The home side took the game by the scruff of the neck in the last eight minutes when Mohamed was left unmarked to head home their second.
It was three on 88 minutes after Sassi made a brilliant turn in the opposite half to set up Mohamed who rounded off his second of the night, with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) concurring.
The contest were put to bed at the death when Bencharki capped off a fine evening for the Egyptians with a delightful chip for an emphatic victory and place in the final against rivals Al Ahly SC.
