RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano will join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich next season on a five-year deal.
With David Alaba reportedly set to leave the club on a free transfer, the Bavarians have wasted no time in snapping a replacement before the 2021/2022 season.
The Frenchman will join the UEFA Champions League holders on 1 July 2021 after the Bavarians triggered the defender's €42.5 million release clause.
Dayot Upamecano (22, RB Leipzig) will move to FC Bayern München from 1 July 2021. The defender and the German record champions have agreed the terms of a five-year deal until 30 June 2026.
"We’re happy that we’ve been able to sign Dayot Upamecano for FC Bayern München," Bayern sporting director Salihamidžić told the club's official website.
"We’re convinced that Dayot will be a very important member of our team in the coming years."
