Borussia Dortmund 5-2 Eintracht Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund got off to a superb start in the Bundesliga with a 5-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Marco Reus got the opener, but an own-goal from Felix Passlack put Eintracht level only for Thorgan Hazard as well as Erling Braut Haaland to put Dortmund further ahead.

Haaland snatched a double in the second half before Gio Reyna got in on the act, whilst Jens Petter Hauge gifted Eintract a second.

VfB Stuttgart 5-1 Furth

VfB Stuttgart gave newly-promoted Furth an unwanted welcome to the big time after they cruised to a 5-1 triumph in Stuttgart.

Wataru Endo had the host up and running inside the first 30 minutes and Philipp Klement, who was a first half substitute doubled their advantage for a healthy cushion at the interval.

Marc-Oliver Kempf secured Stuttgart’s third soon following the restart and added a brace late on before Hamadi Al Ghaddioui dug further misery for the visitors.

Furth were able to pick up a consolation in the last minute through Jamie Leweling, who had come on as a substitute.

Union Berlin 1-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen entered their new campaign in the German top-flight through a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin right at the Alte Forsterei.

Union were first on the front foot in the opening exchanges courtesy of Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi, but Moussa Diaby levelled proceedings a little later to see out a stalemate.

FC Augsburg 0-4 TSG Hoffenheim

TSG Hoffenheim kicked off their campaign in style after managing to brush FC Augsburg aside 4-0 on the road.

Jacob Larsen put the visitors off the mark late in the first half before substitutes Sargis Adamyan and Georginio Rutter added to their tally leaving Sebastian Rudy to the final nail in the coffin.

Vfl Wolfsburg 1-0 Vfl Bochum

Vfl Wolfsburg, who finished in the top-four last season, recorded a 1-0 win over Vfl Bochum to start their season on a positive note.

Bochum were dealt a blow inside the first five minutes after Robert Tesche gave away a penalty-kick for a handball in the area, which subsequently saw him dismissed.

Weghorst did go on to make up for the missed opportunity as he netted the winner in the middle of the first half period.

Arminia Bielefeld 0-0 SC Freiburg

After battling relegation much of last season Arminia Bielefeld played to a goalless draw against SC Freiburg in their season opener.

The outfits pushed each other throughout, but in the end neither of the two managed to get a breakthrough.
