Werder Bremen 2-0 FC Augsburg

Werder Bremen managed to get back to winning ways in the Bundesliga through a 2-0 victory over FC Augsburg in Saturday’s action.

Following a goalless first half, Bremen struck late in the match courtesy of Theodor Gebre Selassie followed by fullback Felix Agu.

Augsburg, who haven’ t won in their last five matches across all competitions, dropped to 11th spot one spot behind the resurgent Bremen.

Vfl Wolfsburg 2-2 RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig were unable to leapfrog the league leaders Bayern Munich after an entertaining 2-2 draw against Vfl Wolfsburg out at the Volkswagen Arena.

Nordi Mukiele issued the visitors a positive start four minutes in, however Wout Weghorst drew Wolfsburg level later on before Renato Steffen put them ahead at the break.

Leipzig bounced back early on in the second half through right-back Willi Orban, as two sides settled for a share of the spoils.

Hoffenheim 0-0 Arminia Bielefeld

Hoffenheim’s winless woes in the league continued after playing to a frustrating goalless draw against Arminia Bielefeld.

Arminia, who came into the contest with a 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin, inconsistent season near the bottom of the standings continues with Hoffenheim not out of the woods either.

FC Koln 0-0 Hertha Berlin

FC Koln battled for a goalless draw against Hertha Berlin in a bottom-half contest right at the RheinEnergieStadion.

This result stretches Koln’s winless run on all fronts to eight matches and leaves them in 16th place with two wins so far, as Hertha prop up in 13th spot.

VfB Stuttgart 2-2 Borussia Monchengladbach

Borussia Monchengladbach failed to follow-up last Friday’s impressive win over the treble champions Bayern Munich with a 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart.

Gladbach had the breakthrough late in the first half through a penalty from Lars Stindl, but Stuttgart replied early in the second half through Nicolas Gonzalez.

It then needed Denis Zakaria to restore Gladbach’s lead however as victory loomed Silas Wamangituka levelled it up to deny the visitors consecutive league wins.
