Official: Ighalo lands new club

Odion Ighalo has completed a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab from Shanghai Shenhua after his loan stint with Manchester United ended last week.

Ighalo, 31, arrived at Old Trafford in January 2020 from the Chinese Super League side after the Red Devils suffered a mid-season injury crisis.

However, the off-season signing of Edinson Cavani pushed up down the pecking order with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford the other two options for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"It's so hard to see this dream come to an end," he wrote on Instagram after his loan stint ended last week.

"But I give God the glory for helping me fulfil this lifelong dream of putting on a Manchester United shirt as a player and represent this great club. To the manager, I say thank you for trusting and believing in me when many did not."

He's now been unveiled at the Saudi Arabian club based in Riyadh after signing a lucrative two and a half year contract.

The former Super Eagles striker scored five goals in 23 games for the Premier League giants during his 12-month stint.
