The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced the appointment of former captain Joseph Yobo as the new assistant coach for the senior national team.
Yobo, 39, replaces Imama Amapakabo as the assistant to Gernot Rohr ahead of what promises to be an exciting new era for the Super Eagles.
Packed with promising young talent at the recent 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where they finished in third-place Yobo looks to add an exciting new dimension to the current technical team.
"The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed former Super Eagles’ defender and captain Joseph Yobo as assistant coach of the team," the NFF statement read.
Capped 101 times for Nigeria, Yobo featured at thee FIFA World Cups and six AFCON's the last of which was the triumphant 2013 showpiece in South Africa.
During his playing days, Yobo spent nine seasons in the Premier League, eight with Everton where he forged a cult-hero status.
