Al Ahly star: Playing for a draw not our mentality

African Football

Al Ahly winger Hussain El Shahat insists they are targeting nothing less than victory against Al-Hilal as they aim to advance in the CAF Champions League.

Al Ahly and Al-Hilal will battle it out for the final quarter-final spot in the Champions League on Saturday night in Cairo.

The Red Devils have not been consistent in this year's group stages, but a win or draw will see them advance to the final eight of Africa's premier club competition.

"It will be a tough match as both teams want to reach the second round. We have the desire to win tomorrow and reach the second round," El Shahat said, as per the club's official website.

"We are aware of our chances tomorrow. The draw will be enough but this is not our mentality and we always play for winning. We want to win tomorrow and continue our journey in the competition."

"We are ready and we are focused. We want to reach the second round and keep fighting to win the African title for the third straight season."
