Soweto jacket Derby - Chiefs vs Pirates

The Locker Room

Orlando Pirates have recently taken to social media to show off their “Tiro” jackets but how does it compare to their rivals Kaizer Chiefs' hoodies?

What happened?

The Soweto Derby is one of the biggest events in the domestic football calendar and their supporters are constantly competing with each other as to who has the best teams, sauciest kits and more.

Both Chiefs and Pirates caused a stir online when they revealed their new jerseys and it’s no different when it comes to the clothing apparel. If the rave reviews on social media are true then it is easy to assume that their respective kits have started to sell at a rapid pace.

The Bucs latest jersey?

The new attire is a stylish collaboration with Adidas which includes a three-tone jersey colour-design that forms part of the Sea Robbers' pride collection.

Pirates' official website had this to say about their jacket, “Too good to limit to the pitch. The adidas Tiro jacket debuted as football training wear, but it's now a streetwear staple.”

“From moisture-absorbing Aeroready, to the zip pockets on the side, the details are just as useful beyond the boundary lines.

“This product is made with Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials.”

Chief’s hoodies?

Amakhosi have recently released their purple 2021/22 hoodies which are a Nike collaboration in remembrance of their 2018/2019 kit.

This is what the club had to say on their official website about their attire, “This stunning fleece hoodie will keep you warm and comfortable even in the coldest days in winter.

“This vibrant purple is a reminder of the 2018/2019 away kit that was extremely popular and will complement your existing KC gear.”

Did you know?

The first-ever Soweto Derby’s scoreline was a massive 6-4 victory to Pirates.
