The trend that DStv Prem stars followed

Star Style

One of the biggest style trends of this past winter was the flannel shirts and jackets, and South Africa’s top ballers were seen wearing these check-patterned items.

In the Orlando Pirates camps, several players followed the trend, including Thembinkosi Lorch, Richard Ofori, and Wayde Jooste among others.

The flannel shirt was commonly and still is commonly worn by lumberjacks who worked in the woods. However, like most things in fashion, hype from the fashion industry then made it a thing and not just a jacket for people who collect wood.

The shirt is admittedly stylish and it generally complements any other clothing item you wear with it. The range of colours is endless and it makes sense as to why because patterned clothing tend to incorporate two or more colours and we are not sure if there is a limit to how many hues can be added.

The item is also visually dominant irrespective of its colour. While we are not style and fashion experts, we can reasonably speculate that the flannel shirt was arguably one of the biggest clothing trends this year.

Other players seen to have the top are Amazulu creative midfielder Keagan Buchanan and Marumo Gallants playmaker Thabo Mnyamane. Buchanan has proven his might when comes to style over and over again, and him rocking the flannel very much suggests that it is in fact a trend that is active.

Your thoughts, please?

What do you think of the flannel, if you don’t have one, would you rock it? Plus, which star has the best one?
