Lebogang Phiri, the forgotten star

Star Style

Bafana Bafana star Lebogang Phiri has almost undoubtedly gone under the radar and we have decided to look at what the Turkey-based playmaker has been up to.

It has become a bit of a casualty for overseas-based players to go unnoticed once they have dropped out of the national team setup.

Phiri, unfortunately, has been an example of this as news about him have been few and far between, but here's a reminder that the Johannesburg-born maestro lives quite an opulent lifestyle.

Phiri, a lover of style

Quite a usual for South African stars abroad, Phiri also appears to be a lover of high fashion. High-end labels such as Balmain and Givenchy are a part of the Caykur Rizespor attacker as he is often styled up in expensive brands.

The diminutive midfielder also seems to appreciate other finer things in life like lush views from fancy apartments - as seen on the gallery up on top.

Did you know?

Phiri has previously played for Danish giant Brondby, who competed in this year's UEFA Europa League group stage. The 27-year-old also represented French outfit Guingamp before making the switch to Turkey in July 2021.

The Alexandra-born star was also in the Bidvest Wits academy before his big move to Denmark.

Your thoughts, please?

With Phiri plying his trade in the Turkish topflight, do you think he has been overlooked by Hugo Broos and previous Bafana Bafana coaches in terms of being selected in the national team?
