Catching up with Mzansi's retirees

Some of South Africa’s ex-players left many with a lot of memories, goals, and celebrations to hold onto, and we have decided to have a look at what some of Mzansi's ex-pros are getting up to since retiring.

Steven Pienaar just tied the knot not so long ago, and the well-traveled star seemed to be enjoying his time on honeymoon. Skilo pulled no punches when came to his Morrocan Themed wedding in Spain, and it was a scenic marvel – with an eye-catching backdrop, along with an extravagant decor that fully encapsulates the classy player Pienaar was during his heyday.

While many may have left our screens, Teko Modise has been a popular figure on television as the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns star has been active in broadcasting with his punditry and sports commentary on a couple of channels.

Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane is one of the more recent retirees and the midfield general can’t seem to step away from the game as he recently took part in a celebrity match among some of South Africa’s A-listers including rappers AKA, Big Zulu, Sho Madjozi, and many more.

Ex-Buccaneers' captain Lucky Lekgwathi founded his business earlier this year, but unfortunately, it was vandalised and looted during the recent unrest in some parts of South Africa. However, the grootman will definitely bounce back as we’ve seen him do during his playing career!

Lekgwathi is also a man who likes to work out, as he dedicates quite some time in the gym lifting weights and doing exercise to stay in pristine shape – scroll through the gallery to find out who else has been getting up to what!
