A former Kaizer Chiefs legend will be using his foundation to raise funds to give back to his former high school in Newcastle.
Fani Madida, a lethal striker during his play days, on Wednesday launched the Didiza24 Foundation fundraising event.
The Didiza34 Foundation will be hosting a fundraising event on 12 October 2019. It will start with a corporate 5-a-side challenge in the morning and end with a gala dinner that has been dubbed “A Night with Fani Madida”.
At the event, Madida will auction a Chiefs jersey he wore in 1991/92 when he was the highest goal scorer of that season with 34 goals scored, in all competitions. Proceeds from the event will go towards the upgrading of sports facilities in Newcastle and also programs that we will be initiating with our partner schools.
The Didiza34 Foundation was founded on 04 July 2017 and officially launched on 28 March 2018 at Sekusile High School in Newcastle, which is the former high school of Madida.
Since then they have also partnered with N.M. Tsuene High School in Ga-Rankuwa and the Ontlametse Primary School (formerly Hebron Primary School).
