Real Madrid have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign a star who was recently linked with their biggest rivals, FC Barcelona.
Los Blancos have seemingly begun preparations for next season, with the club remaining in hot pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, who is widely expected to be their marquee signing ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

With the Frenchman's transfer still in the works, it is now reported that the Spanish giants are also making ground on yet another potential signing.
According to The Athletic, Real have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, with the fullback said to have agreed to join the Madrid team either later this year or in 2025.
In the event that he arrives at the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of this season, he would be expected to sign at a reduced fee as his contract in Bavaria is set to expire in June 2025. Thus, if he only joins them next year, he would be making the switch to Carlo Ancelotti's side as a free agent.
It was also revealed last week that Davies' representatives met with Barca to discuss terms for a potential transfer.

However, Real are now understood to have the upper hand in the race for the Canada international's signature.
