Manchester United have reportedly named their asking price for Mason Greenwood.

Manchester United have reportedly placed a hefty price tag of outcast Mason Greenwood amid interest from two of Spain's biggest clubs.

Somewhat of a transitional period is currently taking place at Old Trafford, with it being formally confirmed on Tuesday that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed the acquisition of a minority stake in the club.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Manchester United plc (NYSE: MANU), and Trawlers Limited, an entity wholly-owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are pleased to confirm that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed his acquisition of 25% of the club’s Class B shares and 25% of the club's Class A shares, following the satisfaction of all conditions, including approvals from the Football Association and the Premier League."

As such, a raft of changes are expected to be made at Old Trafford, with the club reportedly desperate to appoint Newcastle United's Dan Ashworth as their new sporting director.

The Manchester outfit have several lingering issues in relation to transfer business, with numerous players out on loan on unclear terms over their long-term futures with the Premier League giants.

Among them is Greenwood, who has found some joy during his short-term stay at Getafe.

The 22-year-old was offloaded on loan by United at the beginning of the season after charges of attempted rape and assault occasioning bodily harm were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023.

After a six-month internal investigation, the decision-makers at the Theatre of Dreams decided it was best that the player move away from the club amid pressure from investors and the United women's team.

It is widely believed that Greenwood will never player for his boyhood club ever again, and as a result, it is now reported that United have slapped a sizeable price tag on him amid growing interest in the forward from other Spanish teams, as well as clubs in Italy.

According to German outlet Fussball News, the Red Devils have set Greenwood's transfer fee at £34 million (R810 million) for any party that is interested.

It is further claimed, however, that with his contract set to expire in 2025, the price could be negotiated down in order to avoid losing him on a free.
