Manchester United have now reportedly put three stars, who cost them as much as R4.3 billion, up for sale in the January transfer window.

It is understood that the Red Devils are looking to sell some of their players to raise funds for potential new signings next month.

The club has been linked with the likes of Timo Werner of RB Leipzig, Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich, as well as Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart.

However, none of these potential deals will materialise without a few exits from Old Trafford too. As such, three players have reportedly been placed on the market.

According to The Independent, United are now ready to listen to offers for Casemiro, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho, who were bought for a combined £184 million (R4.3 billion), including add-ons.

Sancho's departure is widely expected given his fractured relationship with the manager Erik ten Hag, while both Varane and Casemiro have been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Ten Hag was recently asked about the club potentially making signings in the next window but the tactician remained coy.

"I don't think so and if so, the approach from United should be that if you can improve your team, then you should do," the Dutchman answered, according to the Metro.

"What we expect from every player coming to Carrington every day is for them to give their maximum, to give their best.

"As a club, you have to look for improvements, so if you can find better and it's realistic financially and with financial fair play, I think the club has to go with it.

"But realistically, in relation to the market, most of the time you don't attract the best players in the winter.

"The top, top players will not leave their clubs in the winter. It's players who are disappointed, injured or just not the right fit or whatever."
